Radhika Amin
Radhika is currently a sophomore at Pittsford Mendon High School. She was seven years old when she first started learning Bharatanatyam under the guidance of her guru Smt. Parvata Chidambaram. Bharatanatyam is a passion that has connected her to Indian culture and allowed her to learn more about Hinduism. Over the years, she has learned many valuable qualities, such as perseverance and discipline, from her guru. This art form has also given her precious friendships with her fellow dancers that she will cherish forever. Radhika is soon due to earn a degree from Alagappa Arts Academy and has completed her beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels of Bharatanatyam, including a Shalangai Puja. In addition to her love for dance, Radhika figure skates, is a member of the Mendon High School field hockey team, plays the piano, and plays the clarinet for her school ensemble. This past year she was also a member of the Kids Reaching Hearts Through Performing Arts charity organization. Another strong love of hers for the past six years has been Hindu Heritage Summer Camp. Overall, Bharatanatyam has been an amazing journey that has given Radhika more then she could have ever hoped for.
